Grim's new mount:
This encounter was very, very hard. Paragon defeating this boss with only a 5% buff is--as far as I can tell--the most impressive accomplishment in the history of mankind. This was definitely a very epic encounter on hard mode, and it has a lot of cool new mechanics. Unfortunately, some aspects of this encounter were extremely frustrating and made us want to set ourselves on fire.
For starters, this encounter would be a lot less frustrating if players who are picked up by Val'kyr could still cast spells and use abilities. Currently, some of the combinations of Val'kyr targets you can get will make you want to headbutt your monitor in a fit of blinding rage. Also, the whole Frenzy mechanic with the shamblers in stage one is dumber than a box of hair.
Anyway, a very good, very hard encounter in the grand scheme of things. I'm really proud of my guild mates, especially those who had to sit out and be on call while we grinded through learning the encounter. Although the vast majority of our members have been grade-A badasses during our progression through Icecrown Citadel, a few of us could not be bothered to stick it out or at the very least show a little integrity and quit the right way. So on behalf of all of my excellent guild mates I'd like to issue a hearty "get fucked!" to all those who decided to go the way of the bitch. We hope your skin spontaneously melts off.
Lastly, congratulations to Vigil on picking up the server first. We know they were very close to winning last week--certainly closer than we were--so this is a well-deserved server first for them.
